endless love.

that was the #1 song in the US when i was born. other significant life benchmarks and corresponding musical accompaniment include:

  • 1st BIRTHDAY PARTY WHEN I WAS 3: What's Love Got to Do With It (srsly, i was just in it for the presents)
  • MANIFEST DESTINY OF BECOMING A NEW JERSEYAN: Vogue (ironic, y/y?)
  • THE SUPER SWEET 16 I NEVER HAD: Mo Money Mo Problems (please see above)
  • HS GRADUATION: Livin La Vida Loca*
  • 1st BOYFRIEND: Amazed (THAT IS SO LAME. no really. and mildly offensive, going on the title alone)
  • COLLEGE GRADUATION: Get Busy (pretty much what my parents said at that time. only the kind that makes money. jesus, you know what i mean)
  • 1st DAY ON THE JOB: Crazy in Love (insert i-hate-work-a-la-The-Office joke here)
  • B-SCHOOL ACCEPTANCE: You're Beautiful (foreshadowing the 1 : 2 ratio of females to males?)
  • A BLOG IS BORN: No One (...cares? reads? wow. it's like these songs really just know me.)
* btw, that is the extent of my spanish fluency, plus the gang name vatos locos that "terrorized" the yuppiedom i inhabited in va

anyway, find out what middle america was listening to on repeat during your major life events here.
